Residential & Commercial Termite Pre-treatments
Building construction employs several different types of foundations that need to be termite treated.
Each type requires special treatment measures in order to achieve effective termite control.
Many people believe that building constructed on a slab are free from being infested by termites. The fact is, slab construction is especially vulnerable. And all three types of slab constuction ( monolithic, floating slab, and supported slab) offer many opportunities for termites to enter and infest. Expansion joints, cracks due to foundation failure or settling and small gaps around plumbing pipes are just a few entry points..
New Homes on a crawlspace requires soil treatment of the interior foundation wall soil, around piers, plumbing pipes, chimney’s, ect…
During construction phase of a new home, the pre-treatment should be proformed after the grading and back-filling has been done or what is called final grade. The primary thing to remember is not to disturb or shift soil after it has been treated. Shifting the soil breaks the pre-treatment barrier formed the the termidicide, which protect the property from a termite infestation.
Standard Pre-treatment Procedures
- Trench and treat all interior foundation walls
- Treat all block voids, chimney’s, double foundation walls, ect..
- Treach and treat all supporting piers & plumbing pipes.
- Treat all dirt filled porches, patio slab, garage slabs ect…
- Trench and treat around exterior foundation walls after all final grade has been performed or landscraping is complete.
Scheduling a new construction pre-treatment
We generally require a 24-hour advance notification for the scheduling of pretreats. However, most of the time we are able to respond faster if we have a technician in the area. All D & D Pest Control Co. trucks are equiped to perform termite pre-treatments.
Cost of a Pre-treatment
The cost of a pretreat depends on number of calculations. Type of constuction, square footage of home, square footage of all slabs and type of chemical to be used.
